2026 Chun-Chiu Art Society (春秋美術學會) 51st Year 93rd Grand Exhibition
After Taichung City established the first cultural center in Taiwan (Wen-Ying Hall) in 1976, in response to major national cultural construction policies, the Taichung Municipal Cultural Center (Ying-Cai Road Main Building) was established in 1983, and the original cultural center was renamed Wen-Ying Hall, forming a dual exhibition venue of the Main Building and Wen-Ying Hall. It has served artists for many years, and the Chun-Chiu Art Society (春秋美術會) also regularly exhibits at the Ying-Cai Road Main Building in spring and Wen-Ying Hall in autumn.
Teacher Yang Qi-dong (楊啟東) was a giant in the Taiwan watercolor world. Born in Fengyuan in 1906, he was influenced by Ishikawa Kinichiro and created his own "Qi-dong style" of opaque watercolor. His works were selected many times for the Taiwan Art Exhibition, Provincial Art Exhibition, and international exhibitions, and he won the Bronze Medal at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1965 with "Pottery Kiln." He founded multiple art groups and nurtured countless art talents, making him an important figure in modern Taiwanese art history.
The Chun-Chiu Art Society (春秋美術會) has been established for over forty years. Under the efforts of past presidents and members, it enjoys high praise. In the future, it will continue to invite excellent artists to join, continuing Teacher Yang Qi-dong's philosophy and promoting exhibitions in the spring and autumn seasons, ensuring the inheritance of art never stops. This exhibition features categories such as oil painting, watercolor, glue color (Nihonga), and mixed media, ranging from realism, freehand, and figurative to abstract, merging tradition and modernity to show abundant creative energy in a brilliant and anticipated art feast.
