2026 Taichung City Women Artists Invitational Exhibition
As years pass and time flies, the "Taichung City Women Artists Invitational Exhibition" has been like a warm light since its founding in 2005, continuously illuminating and commending the outstanding contributions of women in Taichung City to artistic creation. This year, this meaningful event has entered its twenty-second year. Since the first exhibition, works by more than 2,000 local female artists have been exhibited. This is not only a milestone in the cultural and artistic development of Taichung but also a highly anticipated spring event in the central Taiwan art scene every year, setting an important example for public women artists' joint exhibitions nationwide.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government specially holds this exhibition in March, Global Women's Month, sincerely inviting outstanding local female artists to participate every year. We believe that art has a power beyond language, capable of breaking traditional gender frameworks, promoting gender equality, and becoming a gentle bridge for voice and dialogue. Through this platform, we jointly create a more free, diverse, inclusive, and equal creative environment, injecting abundant cultural energy into contemporary art and making the city's cultural heritage more profound and moving.
This exhibition has reached a record high in the number of participants, gathering the fruits of the hard work of 133 female artists in this city. The works cover a wide range of categories, including ink painting, calligraphy, seal carving, glue color painting, oil painting, watercolor, printmaking, sculpture, photography, fine arts and crafts, and mixed media. The creative themes range from figurative to abstract, figures to landscapes, and traditional to modern, presenting a dazzling and wonderful array of unique life stories. These creations demonstrate the female artists' keen observation, abundant emotions, and deep understanding of life, reflecting their deep concern for nature, society, and humanity, and telling of that gentle yet steadfast power.
On their creative path, female artists often need to balance multiple roles in family, society, and the individual, seeking a balance between ideals and reality. Perhaps it is such experience that adds warmth and depth to their works, allowing us to see the creativity that defies limits and transcends the self. This is not only a grand event to showcase the artistic achievements of women but also a platform for warm exchange and dialogue, allowing female artists to be seen, appreciated, and understood. We sincerely invite all friends who love literature and art to visit the Dadun Cultural Center to appreciate these moving creations with sincere hearts and warm eyes, and together write a more brilliant chapter for Taichung's culture and art.
