2026 Yushan National Park (玉山國家公園) Feb-May Roaming Dongpu (東埔) Guided Tours (24 Sessions)
As the seasons change, we have entered late winter and early spring. The weather alternates between cold and warm. Walking through the mountain forests, you will surprisingly find Taiwan cherry blossoms (山櫻花) blooming with tiny deep pink and pink-white flowers, dotting the beauty of this season. The early spring nectar attracts many birds such as the Taiwan Yuhina (冠羽畫眉), White-eared Sibia (白耳畫眉), and Japanese White-eye (綠繡眼), playing in groups on the branches, chirping and jumping, or even performing the wonderful skill of hanging upside down to suck nectar. While appreciating the flowers, people can also enjoy the agility of these birds. Visiting Yushan National Park during this suitable time for traveling, flower viewing, and sightseeing, we believe that besides the great mountains, Dongpu (東埔) is also a great place for your trip. To allow the public to appreciate and experience the rich and diverse indigenous culture and ecological resource characteristics of the national park, the Yushan National Park Headquarters (玉管處) has specially planned the "Dongpu Series Ecological Lectures and Ecological Guided Tours" during holidays from February to May 2026. The activities combine nature, culture, and ecology. You are welcome to bring your family to walk around Dongpu and deeply enjoy the rich natural scenery and cultural heritage.\r\nThe Dongpu area in Xinyi Township (信義鄉), Nantou County (南投縣), is at an altitude of about 1,200 meters. Passing through the "Dongpu Hot Spring Scenic Area" and crossing the "Rainbow Creek" (彩虹溪) to the 1st neighborhood of Dongpu Village on the other side, this area is located within Yushan National Park and is also one of the entrances to hiking trails for Yushan, Batongguan (八通關), and the South Section 2. The tribe has traditional Bunun (布農族) indigenous culture, and cultural assets such as the Qing Dynasty Batongguan Historical Trail and the Japanese colonial period Batongguan Traversing Trail, as well as rich animal and plant ecological resources. Since 2023, the Yushan National Park Headquarters has cooperated with the Hotel Tilun (帝綸飯店) to promote the "Knowing Dongpu Series Ecological Lectures and Ecological Guided Tours" activities. Guided by a group of passionate and selfless volunteers, participants can immerse themselves in the embrace of Dongpu Hot Spring while gaining a deeper understanding of local natural and cultural resources, experiencing Bunun tribal culture, feeling the simple passion of local small farmers, and exploring attractions such as Yunlong Waterfall (雲龍瀑布). Everyone is welcome to savor the beauty of Dongpu; don't miss it!\r\nNo prior registration is required for this activity; it is open to free participation. Simply arrive at the meeting point at the scheduled time. We sincerely welcome your visit.
