A Place for Everything—The Ritual of Daily Life Special Exhibition (物有所適-生活儀式感特展)
The exhibition is themed on "The Ritual of Daily Life." As people's pursuit of contemporary quality of life increases, craftsmanship is no longer just functional objects. Through actual five-sensory experiences, it becomes good lifestyle items with both practicality and beauty. We hope to lead viewers to rethink how craftsmanship integrates into contemporary life, explore the stylistic aesthetics of contemporary life, become a sense of ritual in daily life, and let more people understand and appreciate the beauty of craftsmanship.
Craftsmanship is not just a demonstration of skill, but also a carrier containing life wisdom and cultural history. By discussing "Formosa Style" (福爾摩沙美學), it shows how Taiwanese local aesthetics integrate diverse cultures to shape a unique life vocabulary, combined with innovative design concepts of Taiwanese craftsmanship, making craftsmanship an indispensable part of living space. As one of the "SLOHAS" series of activities of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute this year, this exhibition emphasizes "Slow Living" (SLOW) and "LOHAS" as its life attitude. SLOHAS also integrates keywords such as Simple, Lifestyle, Original, Health, Aesthetics, and Sustainability, advocating the spirit of craftsmanship's accessibility and integration into daily life, calling on people to rethink their lifestyles and find their own sense of ritual and aesthetic style in daily details.
Craftsmanship is sourced from nature, from grass, wood, and leather to earth, metal, and stone. Each material has its unique cultural context and historical background. Through a display method different from traditional exhibitions, an immersive living space like a model house is created, combining handicrafts with actual life scenes, allowing viewers to personally feel and experience the real beauty of craftsmanship without distance, and learn how to integrate craft style into modern life. The exhibition venue selects three core areas of daily life, such as "Living Room," "Dining Room," and "Personal Space." Through people's daily perspectives and selected handicrafts, it embodies the aesthetic style of contemporary life, stimulates deep reflection on "quality life" in the space, and interprets the diverse characteristics of craftsmanship through four different life styles such as "Glamping Living," "Contemporary Living," "Tranquil Living," and "Vibrant Living," showing the beauty of craftsmanship integrating into life.
