Conductor | Liao Yuan-hung (廖元宏)
An active Taiwanese conductor on the international stage, Liao Yuan-hung (廖元宏) has won first prize at the Llíria International Conducting Competition in Spain, third prize and Orchestra Prize at the Lovro von Matačić Competition in Croatia, second prize at the Giancarlo Facchinetti Competition in Italy, second prize at the Bucharest Conducting Competition in Romania, and fourth prize at the Rachmaninov Competition in Russia. He was also a semi-finalist in the Besançon International Competition for Young Conductors in France. He has collaborated with orchestras in many countries, including the Mariinsky Theatre, Russian National Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Spanish Radio Symphony (RTVE), Seoul Philharmonic, Lucerne Festival Strings, and National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (國立臺灣交響樂團). He served as the assistant conductor of the Orchestre National d'Île-de-France. Currently, he is the music director of the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (國立臺灣交響樂團) International Youth Orchestra Camp.
Flute | Chang Shuo-yu (張碩宇)
Chang Shuo-yu is a versatile performer in Taiwan holding performance diplomas in flute, piccolo, and baroque flute. During his time in Europe, he obtained the highest performance diploma in flute and piccolo from the École Normale de Musique de Paris, studying under Professor Philippe Lesgourgues; and after receiving the first prize and unanimous jury award for Baroque flute performance at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, he went to the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels to study Baroque music with the authority on early flute, Professor Barthold Kuijken. In addition to holding annual flute recitals at the National Taichung Theater (臺中國家歌劇院), he has also performed the 《Flute and Harp Concerto》 in 《All for Mozart 24》 (瘋迷24莫札特) and collaborated with French piccolo master Jean-Louis Beaumadier in Vivaldi's 《Double Piccolo Concerto》. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Music at the National Taichung University of Education (國立臺中教育大學).
Counterpoint Ensemble (對位室內樂團)
Founded in 1997, the ensemble brings together a group of like-minded elites who love music and are deeply involved in the music environment of Southern Taiwan. The ensemble's performance footprint spans across Taiwan, and in recent years, it has been active in various art festivals, including the TSMC Hsin-Chu Arts Festival (台積心築藝術季) and the Tainan Arts Festival (臺南藝術季) "Taiwan Excellence." They have been invited to perform at the Beijing International Music Festival, Shanghai, Suzhou, and festivals such as Ålesund in Europe, and have been continuously invited to perform at the Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival (高雄春天藝術節). In 2021-2022, in response to the pandemic, they launched the 《Counterpoint Online Concert Hall》 (對位線上音樂廳) series, providing a zero-time-difference musical feast for audiences around the world. The ensemble's recorded albums include 《Music Treasure Box》 (音樂藏寶盒) and 《Sing! HiyaOHaiyan! Sing!》 (唱歌吧! HiyaOHaiyan! Sing!). Recently invited by Weiwuying (衛武營) to perform, including the 2019 Weiwuying Anniversary "Open House," the 2019-2021 【Concert Hall Selection】 animation concerts, and the 2022-2025 Weiwuying 《All for》 (瘋迷) series. Currently, it is one of the "Taiwan Top Performing Arts Groups" (Taiwan Top演藝團隊) of the National Culture and Arts Foundation (國藝會), a recognition of the team's relentless efforts in promoting music activities and their artistic performance execution.
