Batik Technique One-Day Class (蠟染技法一日班)
This course is a one-day course suitable for both beginners and advanced students.
From the color layers of indigo dyeing, the resist lines of batik, to the natural texture changes of ice cracks, experience the process of fabric, wax, and time working together in a single day. The course is taught by Mr. Hsieh Kuo-peng (謝國鵬) from the workshop, who uses his years of batik experience and witty, engaging teaching style to lead students step-by-step in completing a Japanese Chita Momen (知多木綿) batik long towel. This time, we use Japanese Chita Momen "Tokooka" (特岡) grade cotton, known for its excellent indigo absorption. Produced in the Chita area of Aichi Prefecture, Japan, its history dates back to the Keicho era (1596–1615 AD). Famous for "Chita Sarashi (知多晒) with unprecedented whiteness and outstanding quality," the fine yarn and refreshing, flexible fabric are commonly used in kimono making. This ensures every layer of wax and every dip dye presents delicate and deep levels.
Capacity: Starts with 8 people, maximum 18 people.
Instructor: Mr. Hsieh Kuo-peng (謝國鵬)
Registration: Complete payment, fill out the online registration form and remittance details, and submit to complete registration.
