Beyond the Rainbow: Huang Tsai-lang (黃才郎) Solo Exhibition

Date: 2026-02-26 — 2026-06-14 Organizer: (中華民國)黃才郎
In 1995, Huang Tsai-lang (黃才郎) left a magnificent symbolic image for the newly opened Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts with a size-100 oil painting titled <Rainbow — KMFA after Rain>. That rainbow was the starting point of a new chapter in Southern Taiwan's art and a microcosm of Huang Tsai-lang's lifelong artistic journey. Thirty years later, he returns to the KMFA as an artist, gazing once more at the flow of time and life through his brush. 'Beyond the Rainbow' is both a look back at past glory and a restart of his creative original intention.

Huang Tsai-lang holds dual roles in art administration and artistic creation, serving as an important promoter of post-war art development in Taiwan. He has served as the director of three public art museums in Northern, Central, and Southern Taiwan, setting a record in Taiwan's art and cultural history. But behind the administrative honors, there has always been a silent, ceaseless painter's soul, depicting his gaze at life, nature, and time with the steadiness of sketches and the emotion of oil paints. This exhibition is the continuation of Huang Tsai-lang 'Beyond the Rainbow': returning from an art administrator to a creator, letting the brush once again become a bridge between the soul and the land.
