The Nantou County (南投縣) Government Cultural Affairs Bureau actively promotes local cultural preservation. Combining the Nantou County Literary Resources Museum and the Wang Ying-hsin (王英信) Art Museum, the "Bin Bin You Li — Taiwan Betel Nut Culture Special Exhibition" is curated by artist Wang Hsiung-kuo (王雄國) with the theme of local betel nut culture. The exhibition aims to present the historical trajectory and multicultural significance of Taiwan's betel nut culture through rich content, promoting intergenerational cultural dialogue, and local cultural preservation and inheritance.
"Bin Bin You Li — Taiwan Betel Nut Culture Special Exhibition" is an exhibition about memory, understanding, and reconstruction, hoping to let more people know the story of the multiple roles of betel nut in Taiwanese society and evoke local residents' cultural identity. The exhibition is located at the "Yi Jiu Liu Er (1962) Art Space" (壹玖陸貳藝空間) within the Wang Ying-hsin Art Museum campus. This red-tiled house built in 1962 carries the deep historical memory of Nantou's local culture. The exhibition plans six major theme areas, including "Understanding Betel Nut," "Betel Nut and Literature," "Betel Nut and Music," "Betel Nut Documents and Old Photo Records," "Early Betel Nut Stall Memories," and "Shuangdong (雙冬) Betel Nut Images," fully displaying Taiwan's betel nut culture from the 1930s to the 1990s.
