【Central Atrium Thematic Book Fair】MOVE ON, And Then? — A Moving World, Empathetic Daily Life (【中央天井主題書展】MOVE ON然後呢 ? ─移動的世界,共感的日常)
MOVE ON, And Then?
───A Moving World, Empathetic Daily Life
With "movement and crossing" as the core, exploring the life, culture, history, and emotional trajectories after moving.
The theme "MOVE ON, And Then?" highlights reflection and inquiry. Regarding the internal and external changes and aftermath of moving—whether it be cultural crossing and integration, geographical migration, identity transformation, the pursuit of travel and dreams, or the flow of emotion and identity—it uses "And Then?" to guide us in diverse thinking: where do we go after leaving? Who do we become after transformation? What is the purpose of moving? These experiences bring understanding and communication between oneself and others, opening up more possibilities for dialogue.
In the context of globalization and technological development, movement is already a daily occurrence. The world has become more dynamic and interconnected. People build deeper emotional connections and shared experiences through understanding and sharing.
Using images such as "trains, railways, stations, carriages, and platforms" as symbols of the journey's carrier, and treating stations as metaphors and epitomes, the core axis is divided into three major theme areas.
🚆 Starting Station: Returning Home and Leaving
Local revitalization, work and study, family memory, and identity
The intersection on the track of life is the starting point for leaving and the final chapter for returning. Young people drifting between north and south or returning home to start businesses, local workers, students leaving for dreams, and writers looking back at family memories. It is about the pursuit of happiness, identity, and resonance with the land, as well as a journey of courage to redefine self and place.
🚆 On the Train: Scenery of Daily Movement
Railway literature and food travel culture
The window reflects scenes of culture, memory, and the flow of time. The train carries rich sentiments, expectations, and beautiful fragments of life. Dreams, hobbies, food, and life bloom between daily routine and expectation; railway, travel, and shimmering fragments in flow form a new rhythm of life.
🚆 Transfer Station: Survival Scenes of Transnational and Foreign Lands
National borders and identity, labor and dignity, exile and asylum
When movement crosses national borders, whether by will or by force, it also faces challenges of systems, identity, and multicultural integration. Migrants, migrant workers, refugees, and exiles meet in the transfer hall, crossing languages, cultures, and borders to seek survival and dignity in other countries. This station is the daily life of "the other"—a living scene that is both strange and must be made familiar.
