"Chronicles of Yushan (玉山大事記)—Understanding the History of Yushan" Permanent Exhibition
The Yushan (玉山) National Park Headquarters was established on April 10, 1985. As time passes and history unfolds, how much effort did predecessors put into this magnificent park to make Yushan what it is today? Driven by the desire to explore and continue this inherited mission, this exhibition was conceived to help the public understand the history of Yushan. The exhibition collects representative and historical exhibits (such as official documents and photos of major events, the first park entry and summit permits, international exchange memorabilia, award-winning publications, etc.). Every item is a treasure of the administration, hoping to amaze visitors and make them feel the deep beauty and moving spirit of Yushan National Park.
The exhibition is divided into 4 main themes:
Theme 1: "Evolution of Yushan Organization—The Years Together": Introduction of successive directors and organizational changes, the groundbreaking of the Shuili (水里) headquarters in 1995, and the establishment of the first external post, the Lulinshan (鹿林山) Management Station.
Theme 2: "Management and Partnerships": The past and present of Yushan National Park, the ban on mining in Walami (瓦拉米), the cancellation of the New Central Cross-Island Highway construction, Indigenous partnerships, and international exchanges.
Theme 3: "Cherish Yushan, Honor Yushan": Multi-faceted award-winning publications, the Beauty of Yushan photography exhibition, achievements of conservation patrollers and volunteers, high-mountain ecological island species conservation, and research stations (Dafen and Nanxi).
Theme 4: "Mountaineering and Recreation Services": Evolution of the Yushan Main Peak trail, the start and continuation of park entry quotas, the transfer and reconstruction of Paiyun (排雲) Lodge, and the renovation of long-distance trekking cabins and Japanese-era wire suspension bridges.
Registration: Free admission.
