"Classified Files (機密檔案)" - Viewing the Steel Soul Through Chen Ting-shih (陳庭詩)'s Structural Poetics
This exhibition displays 39 works including iron sculptures, prints, and acrylics by the famous international artist from Taiping (太平), Chen Ting-shih (陳庭詩).
The curator, Chen Ting-shih Modern Art Foundation (陳庭詩現代藝術基金會), stated that this exhibition continues the previous theme of "Agriculture" and focuses on sculpture works centered on "Industrial Products" in Chen Ting-shih's creations. From hoes, rakes, and exhaust pipes to chains, gears, pot lids, and dumbbells—these discarded ready-made objects from different eras are not just a choice of materials, but construct a history of Taiwan's economy written in metal. Chen Ting-shih's creations span the transitions from agriculture and industry to modern commerce. With the artist's hand, he remolds these traces of the era into poetic images, letting scrap iron speak again to tell the memory between the land and people.
