Clumsiness (拙): Listening to the Voice Within - Wu Shang-rou (吳尚柔) Ceramics Solo Exhibition

In Wu Shang-rou's world, ceramics is a form of listening and cultivation. In dialogue with the clay, from learning to mastering the rhythm of the work, and experiencing different kiln fires and techniques, she gradually understands that the power of fire lies in inclusion rather than control. Clay is soft, allows for mistakes, and is repairable, much like time and the human heart, and has thus become the core spirit of her creation. She does not pursue perfection but allows the firing process to naturally leave its marks. For her, creation is a quiet practice—when the hands move, the heart settles. Ceramics is not just a material but a way of being, recording the process and collecting emotions and breath.
