Guoxing Township (國姓鄉) has the highest number of sambar deer in the country, with nearly 3,800 head. The annual production and quality of deer velvet lead the nation. For years, the Township Office has promoted the "Deer God Festival" (鹿神祭), combining industry, culture, and tourism, and promoting deer velvet cuisine to deepen public understanding of its nutritional value.
Held every March, the "Deer God Festival" is the major annual event of Guoxing Township. It symbolizes gratitude for the deer industry and serves as an important platform to promote the township's specialty products. The 2026 "Deer Gazing Mountain Town, Weaving Hakka Dreams Together" activity includes sacrificial processions, wonderful performances, and DIY experiences.
