First Love of the Century – Yang Li-hua Taiwanese Opera (楊麗花歌仔戲) Special Exhibition

Yang Li-hua (楊麗花) was born into a family of opera performers and traveled with her mother's troupe from a young age. She took to the stage at 7 and rose to fame at 16 with "Lu Wenlong with Dual Spears." At 22, she joined the Zheng Sheng Tian Ma Radio Drama Troupe, and the following year signed with TTV to enter the field of television Taiwanese Opera, also expanding into film and music to become a multi-talented star. She specialized in playing the "Sheng" (male lead) in Taiwanese Opera; her handsome appearance in male attire and exquisite acting made her the perfect projection of a handsome male in the hearts of many, leading to what many viewers consider their "First Love of the Century."
This exhibition focuses on Yang Li-hua and Taiwanese Opera, displaying her precious audio-visual materials, photos, costumes, television props, and sets. It also integrates AI technology, allowing the audience to take photos or perform with Yang Li-hua, fulfilling the "dream of performing together."
