Fortunate Rhymes of Taiwan (福韻臺灣) — Special Exhibition of Community and Settlement Crafts

Exhibition Introduction:
Taiwan, an island that nurtures countless life wisdom and cultural creativity. From mountains and forests to coasts, from land to communities, every place contains stories of crafts where humans and nature coexist. This exhibition is centered on "Fortunate Rhymes of Taiwan" (福韻臺灣), inviting fourteen representative community craft groups to participate together, showing the achievements and energy of the "Taiwan Community Craft Industry Empowerment Subsidy Program" and the "Craft Settlement Revitalization and Development Subsidy Program" over the years.
The exhibition connects the craft styles from all over Taiwan with three symbolic meanings: "Water, Plants, and Soil":
The Water element represents flow and nourishment, exhibiting Hsinchu Xinpu (新竹新埔) Persimmon Dyeing, Yilan (宜蘭) Dyeing, Taichung Taiping (台中太平) Blue, Chiayi (嘉義) Tea Dyeing, and Penghu (澎湖) New Craft utilizing multi-media dyeing and weaving techniques to present the life rhythm of natural colors flowing between fabrics.
The Plant element symbolizes life and reproduction. Through the use of plant materials such as Miaoli Yuanli (苗栗苑裡) Rush, Hualien Xinshe (花蓮新社) Banana Fiber, Taitung Shishan (台東石山) Tribe Moon Peach Fiber, and Chiayi Alishan (嘉義阿里山) Lacquerware, it shows the wisdom of the coexistence of Taiwan's ethnic groups and the land.
The Soil element symbolizes stability and bearing. From Kaohsiung Baolai (高雄寶來) Pottery, Changhua (彰化) Brick Art, Tainan (台南) Sword Lion Craft, Hualien Guangfu (花蓮光復) Pottery to Hsinchu Xiangshan (新竹香山) Glass, the creations reflect the craft aesthetics and cultural memory nurtured by the land.
This exhibition integrates the design concepts of "Simple, Sustainable, Healthy, Lifestyle, Aesthetic," and uses a narrative spatial layout, inviting viewers to walk into the life context of each community and settlement, and feel the memories, emotions, and beauty carried by crafts.
Craft is not only a demonstration of technology but also a continuation of culture and an exchange of emotions. Through this exhibition, we hope the audience can see the diverse forms and deep heritage of Taiwanese crafts, realize the power of community collaboration, and feel the warmth transmitted between hand-made works. May this "Fortunate Rhyme" flow in every corner of the island, letting crafts continue to shine and be sung in life.
