Historical Artifacts Exhibition of "Huangpu New Village Exhibition Hall" (「黃埔新村展示館」歷史文物展)

Date: 2026-01-01 — 2026-12-31 Organizer: (中華民國)高雄市政府文化局
Huangpu New Village (黃埔新村) is Taiwan's first-generation military dependents' village (眷村). Due to its architectural features and important historical background, it has been registered as a cultural landscape by the Kaohsiung City Government since 2003, and the entire village is completely preserved.
"Military Dependents' Village" (眷村) generally refers to the settlements where military families who migrated from mainland China to Taiwan in the mid-20th century lived, and their subsequent development. Military dependents' village culture is an important component in narrating the history of immigration in Taiwan and symbolizing multi-ethnic groups.
Therefore, the "Huangpu New Village Exhibition Hall" (黃埔新村展示館) will present the historical context of Taiwan's military dependents' villages, pass on the life stories of the residents, and display precious historical artifacts and images. We invite citizens and friends to participate in opening a new milestone in preserving military dependents' village culture and experience the inheritance of Taiwan's diverse culture.
