Historical Building Cishan (旗山) Station – Sugar Railway Story House Permanent Exhibition

"Cishan (旗山) Station - Sugar Railway Story House" Strolling along Cishan Old Street, a fairy-tale house with a cyan octagonal roof stands at the end of the street. Cishan Station, the most important stop on the Qiwei Line (旗尾線) of the sugar industry railway and the gateway to the nine mountainous districts of Kaohsiung. During the Japanese colonial period, it bore the heavy responsibility of transporting sugar, sugarcane, bananas, and other industries, supporting Cishan's golden era. It was registered as a historical building in 2005 and reopened as the Sugar Railway Story House (糖鐵故事館) in 2016.
In 2021, the interior space was reorganized to make the Sugar Railway Story House a theme cultural and creative exhibition hall and shop focusing on sugar, bananas, and trains. It features displays such as the Belgian small locomotive No. 353 of the Qiwei Line and VR virtual reality devices, as well as exclusively developed cultural and creative products, allowing everyone to return to the nostalgic times of the Qiwei Line through the locomotive and virtual technology, and take home plenty of tourist souvenirs.
