How Does Your Family Worship? Art Connections from Dining Table to Altar (恁兜攏按怎拜?從餐桌到神桌的藝術連結)
This exhibition focuses on Taiwanese folk beliefs, especially Taoism. Most deities in this faith ascended from human form to divinity, making Taoist gods more approachable and secular. Local believers incorporate personal preferences into the offerings placed on altars, creating a landscape full of meaning.
The exhibition strategy draws on the characteristics of Taiwan's 'Ban-do Platter' (辦桌拼盤), while showcasing art, crafts, design, animation, comics, and games (ACG), as well as cultural relics from the Tainan Temple Museum (臺南宮廟博物館). It attempts to blur the boundaries between art, traditional crafts, design, and commercial creativity, while highlighting Taiwan's diverse and coexisting facets, presenting new interpretative possibilities of Taiwanese culture to domestic and international audiences.
