Humanities Corridor: "Hakka Villages Beyond the Ocean – French Polynesia (Tahiti)" Overseas Hakka Project Achievement Exhibition (人文長廊:「海洋彼方的客庄-法屬玻里尼西亞(大溪地)」海外客家計畫成果展)

Date: 2026-01-24 — 2026-04-30 Organizer: (中華民國)國立苗栗高級中學
This exhibition was applied for by National Miaoli Senior High School (國立苗栗高級中學) through the "Youth 10 Billion Overseas Dream Fund Project" of the Youth Development Administration, Ministry of Education. In November 2025 (Year 114), Library Director Huang Hsiu-ling (黃琇苓) led 14 young domestic students to Tahiti, French Polynesia, for a 2-week cultural exchange with local Hakka communities and cultural associations.

The exhibition features a "Language Wall" comparing Hakka language and food culture between Taiwan and Tahiti. Visitors can scan QR codes to hear the original sounds of Tahitian Hakka. In the members' projects, one can also see students' observations on history, geography, language, art, and ecology in Tahiti and Taiwan's Hakka culture. From the "Tahiti Hakka Proverbs" and "Tu-Sheng" (Native-born) books displayed on-site, as well as the "Root-seeking in Tahiti" video series filmed by the Hakka News Magazine team, visitors can see the local Hakka community's efforts in language preservation and the process of cultural integration after the Hakka people settled in Tahiti.
