"Inheriting the Sound - Green Buds in the Wind VII (承聲而來-芽綠迎風VII)" Taoyuan City Chinese Orchestra (桃園市國樂團) 10th Anniversary Concert Series
The Green Buds in the Wind (芽綠迎風) concert series has entered its seventh year. The Taoyuan City Chinese Orchestra (桃園市國樂團) upholds its mission of promoting traditional culture and arts education, continuing to bring Chinese Orchestra (國樂) music into schools and cultivating a deeper understanding of traditional music among the younger generation. Gathering professional musicians and new forces, it showcases the diverse and moving face of Chinese Orchestra music in the interplay of tradition and modernity. This performance is led by TYCO Assistant Conductor Chan Ping-hsiang (詹秉翔), leading the orchestra to demonstrate the majestic momentum of a full Chinese Orchestra ensemble.
The repertoire spans Taiwan's local customs and humanistic imagery. TYCO will perform Bai Haoyu's (白浩鈺) "Folk Suite," using four familiar melodies—"Little River Flowing," "Fisherman's Song," "Rainy Night Flower," and "Black Horse"—to outline a colorful folk music landscape. Chu Chun-chuan's (瞿春泉) "Taiwanese Opera Style" (歌仔風) features Liuqin player Chen Chia-chi (陳家琪) as soloist, delicately interpreting the agile charm of Taiwanese Opera (歌仔戲) music. Zhang Chao's (張朝) "Sun Festival" is led by Erhu soloist Lin Mei-pei (林渼珮), releasing unrestrained emotions in a warm rhythm. The concert also specially invites the Zhongzhen Elementary School Art Talent Chinese Orchestra Class (忠貞國小藝才國樂班), multi-time winners of the National Student Music Competition Excellence Award, to perform "Taiwanese Capriccio" and Zhang Chao's "The Harmony of Seven Colors" - "Orange: Sun Song," allowing innocent sounds and professional stages to reflect each other, showing the hope and vitality of Chinese Orchestra inheritance. "Green Buds in the Wind VII" will invite the audience into the concert hall with a richly layered repertoire and sincere performance to feel the moving moments of Chinese Orchestra in bloom.
