"Inking Ancient Teachings, Virtue Reflects in Splendid Chapters" - Multi-Virtue Art Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition 《筆墨承古訓.仁德映華章》

Date: 2026-02-28 — 2026-03-22 Organizer: (中華民國)財團法人白陽山慈善基金會
The "Inking Ancient Teachings, Virtue Reflects in Splendid Chapters" exhibition presents the achievements of the Baiyang Mountain Charity Foundation (財團法人白陽山慈善基金會) in practicing the inheritance of virtue and art through its original "Health-Preserving Zen Calligraphy" teaching system.

There is a kind of calligraphy that can return restlessness to tranquility and elevate the body, mind, and soul—this is the "Health-Preserving Zen Eight Principles of Yong Foundation" developed by Teacher Yang Shu-fen (楊淑芬). Teacher Yang has integrated the essence of the strokes of the four great masters of the Tang Dynasty—Ou, Chu, Yan, and Liu—refining a teaching method that is easy to learn and master.

Health-Preserving Techniques and the Spirit of Virtue and Art
This set of techniques uniquely combines human meridians with Tai Chi standing post and suspended wrist practice methods. Following Lady Wei's philosophy of "starting with large characters," it requires the writer to use the power of the whole body. Through the "Yong character foundation" techniques such as stabilizing the feet, straightening the head, and aligning the chest, it can mobilize the circulation of meridians throughout the body, achieving physical and mental stillness and smooth Qi and blood flow.
The Foundation adheres to the spirit of "setting one's heart on the Way, basing oneself on virtue, relying on benevolence, and finding relaxation in the arts," emphasizing that calligraphy is not just a skill, but also a way to cultivate the self, understand principles, and nurture upright Qi. The "Virtue and Art Calligraphy" we promote follows the principle of "seven parts virtue, three parts art," requiring students to progress with perseverance, internalizing Chinese virtues in the heart and manifesting them through the brush.
This exhibition brings together works by teachers and students from home and abroad, covering diverse media such as health-preserving calligraphy and painted life, showing the spiritual cleansing and life elevation students have gained between ink and brush, highlighting the profound charm of traditional culture.
