International Mother Language Day Story Time: Taiwanese Picture Book "Ten Eggs" (《十粒卵》) Storytelling
In response to "International Mother Language Day" promoted by UNESCO, we have specially planned Mother Language Story Time. Through reading Taiwanese picture books together, we accompany children to hear the mother tongue's voice and feel the language's warmth within stories.
The selected picture book is the Taiwanese work "Ten Eggs" (《十粒卵》), using lively plots and rhythmic language to lead children to recognize the surprise of birth and joy of growth. The story will be told entirely in Taiwanese, paired with interactive questions and fun body movements, allowing children to naturally encounter Taiwanese in a relaxed atmosphere and improve their language sense and expression.
Parent-child co-reading time is also arranged, encouraging parents and children to speak their mother tongue together, making it a beautiful part of daily family life. Through stories, we expect children to understand that mother tongue is not just classroom content, but an important bridge connecting family, culture, and land.
