Keelung Story Museum (基隆故事館) "STORY100%" Special Exhibition

Keelung Story Museum (基隆故事館), as a place for telling Keelung's stories, has reopened with a new look. The theme of this permanent exhibition is "Witnessing a Century of Keelung" (見證百年基隆), centering on "Keelung Harbor" (基隆港) as the core axis, leading the audience through a hundred years of history to explore the transformation of Keelung from "Jilong" (雞籠) to "Keelung" (基隆), witnessing the city's rise, fall, and prosperity.
This exhibition is divided into three major zones: "From Fishing Port to Harbor Town," "From Post-war Recovery to Golden Age," and "From International Tourism to Century-old Navigation." Through the display method of cabin corridors, it evokes the first impressions of Keelung for travelers of different eras; the aerial imagery and historical maps section delicately present the trajectory of Keelung's urban development over a century. From 1924, when Keelung was upgraded from a "street" (街) to a "city" (市), through its time as a major military port during the Pacific War (1941-1945), to the post-war golden years, it completely records Keelung's metamorphosis from local to international. It covers the period from the 1990s to 2024, where Keelung continues to serve as a major international trade port in northern Taiwan, telling the story of a century's rise and fall. From 1924 to 2024, Keelung, as a port city, continues to flow into future chapters, showcasing its unique history and culture.
