Kind Heart, Generous Pen — Tseng Shih-liang (曾仕良) Literary Exhibition
Honorary Professor Tseng Shih-liang (曾仕良) of Nankai University of Technology (南開科技大學) was awarded the 2025 Nantou County (南投縣) Yushan Literature Award (玉山文學獎) for Literary Contribution. To help the public understand Professor Tseng Shih-liang's life and contributions, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Nantou County Government has launched the "Kind Heart, Generous Pen — Tseng Shih-liang Literary Exhibition" at the Nantou County Literary Document Hall on the fourth floor of the library. Literature and art lovers are welcome to visit.
Professor Tseng Shih-liang taught at Nankai University of Technology in Caotun (草屯) for 42 years and is now retired and appointed as an honorary professor of the school, demonstrating his great contribution to educating talents and deeply cultivating campus humanities. He has been passionate about literature since his youth. On one hand, he uses short stories to reflect his life feelings and write about interpersonal entanglements; on the other hand, he engages in essay writing to adjust the pace of life, with true feelings within rationality, as well as travel writing and art criticism, showing a diverse range of styles and his own literary charm. His creations use novels, essays, travel writing, and art criticism to reflect the ways of the world and human nature. He has studied the classics, histories, philosophers, and belles-lettres extensively, and is particularly good at elucidating the "Analects (論語)," with clear writing that enlightens the mind.
Professor Tseng emphasizes reading and writing, and pays special attention to editing for knowledge production. In addition to campus teaching, he is also involved in social youth literary education. For many years, he has frequently stepped out of the school gate to participate in literary public affairs. Still waters run deep, and a wise man speaks little. For decades, Professor Tseng has passionately dedicated his learning and silently cultivated the literary garden, serving as a model.
"Kind Heart, Generous Pen — Tseng Shih-liang Literary Exhibition" uses Professor Tseng's diverse creations as a guide. The exhibition content is divided into units such as Published Works, Ethical Writing, Family Affection, Floral Art and Literature, Manuscripts Printed into Books, "Tseng Shih-liang Discussing the Analects" audio-visual area, and "Relatives Love to Bicker - Family Memory Connection Map," inviting you to step into Professor Tseng Shih-liang's thoughts and literary landscape.
