KMFA Lecture (高美講堂) | Déjà Vu Illusion and Stylistic Orchestration: Von Wolf’s (馮.沃爾夫) AI Image Generation

Date: 2026-04-11 Organizer: (中華民國)蔡宏賢
Echoing the international special exhibition "Von Wolf’s Garden Fortress," the KMFA Lecture series continues with the sub-theme "Opening the Cabinet of AI Curiosities." As the global community discusses the impact of AI on human civilization and life, Taiwan—a key location for global chip manufacturing—re-examines the role AI plays in the civilization of human creation. This series of lectures uses Taiwan's local development experience to respond to the stage where artists have begun to integrate generative AI algorithms with oil painting.

In Von Wolf’s AI creation series, the artist generates visual images that are both familiar and strange by mixing, reconstructing, and orchestrating classic styles from Western art history. These works blend figurative artistic syntax, with exaggerated facial expressions and movements that still retain the symbolism, metaphor, and narrative structure within the context of Western art development. Through the style collage and image displacement brought by AI, Von Wolf guides us to rethink the sense of helplessness faced by artistic creation in the AI generation, where mass reproduction and generation of images are increasingly common, and the brand-new mixing possibilities it opens up.
