Date: 2026-03-07 Organizer: (中華民國)廖鴻基
In this lecture, marine literature author Liao Hung-chi (廖鴻基) will lead us—
From literature and action to life experience, to re-read the relationship between the Kuroshio Current and Taiwan.

New Book Launch | "Fish Girl" (魚女孩)
The lecture will also introduce Mr. Liao Hung-chi's latest novel — "Fish Girl," which is his most private inner diving and search.
Steering toward the origin of the long river of life, sailing into the deep dark surges and the waters where reality and fiction intertwine.
The novel describes the fisherman Heping (航平), who travels between the land and the sea, and his classmate Xinti (辛媞), who returned to her hometown after retirement. They reunite in a small town fishing port and begin a deep conversation. The topics range from their life crossroads to the mysterious existence haunting Heping's life — "Fish Girl."
They return to childhood, memories, and dreams, crossing the boundary between land and sea, seeking answers to life through repeated eye contact and pursuit.
"Fish Girl" (魚女孩) advances the narrative through Q&A-style dialogue, repeatedly moving between reality and dreams, memory and imagination.
The ocean is no longer just a field of labor and survival, but the source of memory, creation, and summoning.
The girl from the deep sea sometimes transforms into a fish, sea snake, or cetacean, guiding the fish run and rescuing those in danger; sometimes she appears during creative stagnation or life turning points, acting as a guardian and a guide.
