"Lü Bi-quan, known as Bi-feng Shan-ren (碧峰山人), was born during the hardships of the Japanese colonial period and grew up in the turbulent era of Taiwan. He witnessed the changes in the rise and fall of Sinology and personally experienced the difficulties of cultural inheritance. His life's primary interest was poetry, and his travels were most recorded in verse. Despite the clamor of the world, his talent flowed into elegant prose, never falling behind others in winning accolades; even in his old age, his poems continued to emerge like bees from a hive, with praise or blame never disturbing his heart. The poet's persistence is also what makes him lovable and respectable.
Elder Lü Bi-quan's poetic talent is famous far and wide, especially for the speed of his composition, which is a favorite topic in the poetry world. To date, he has published five large volumes of the "Bi-quan Yin Cao" (碧銓吟草) series, making it difficult for others to match his output. Both his process of writing and his works are currently the focus of the poetry community.
