LEARPRINT Neiwei 內惟 Sound Lab: A 65-Channel Symphonic Experience
"LEARPRINT Neiwei 內惟 Sound Lab - A 65-Channel Symphonic Experience" is created by French sound field designer and acoustic creator Alain Français. At first glance, it consists of simple white speakers, which may seem unremarkable. However, when you walk among the speakers, you will perceive the incredibly clear sound of each instrument. Each speaker plays as if an instrument is performing right by your ear. Unlike listening to digital music, it offers a more three-dimensional and surround-sound feel, overturning previous auditory experiences.
Kaohsiung is one of the few cities in Taiwan to have both Western and Chinese orchestras. In 2016, Alain Français visited Kaohsiung to record nearly 15 pieces for the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra and the Kaohsiung Chinese Orchestra (國樂團). The orchestration and volume of Chinese and Western music are very different, and this difference inspired him to create many innovations and challenges, turning speaker technology into an art exhibition. Audience members can follow their curiosity, walk through 65 speakers, and capture the specific timbre and position of each instrument as if they were a member of the orchestra.
Now, when you come to the Neiwei 內惟 Arts Center, in addition to enjoying exhibitions, tracing history, and tasting delicious food, a musical revolution is about to take place! "LEARPRINT Neiwei 內惟 Sound Lab - A 65-Channel Symphonic Experience" breaks the traditional boundary between performers and viewers. Viewers are no longer just watching from afar. Just as the Neiwei 內惟 Arts Center opens the fence between art and life, creating more new experiences of daily aesthetics, everyone is invited to stand among the speakers for an unprecedented listening feast!
