Li Jin-xing (李金興) Family Introduction and Life Scenarios Permanent Exhibition

During the Qing Dynasty, the Li (李) family moved from Zhao'an (詔安), Zhangzhou (漳州), Fujian, to Yuemei (月眉), Daxi. The family operated the "Jin-xing Shop" (金興商號) and became wealthy by transporting rice and grain through the Dahan River (大漢溪), becoming famous for their benevolence.

Many talented individuals emerged from the Li family. In addition to Li Teng-fang (李騰芳, 1814-1879), the only Civil Service Examination graduate in Daxi, this exhibition also tells the stories of Li Shih-chi (李詩計, 1911-1951), the head coach of the Taiwan National Baseball Team, and Li Xuan (李宣, 1916-1995), a midwife and Daxi Town Representative.

The exhibition is divided into two major areas: "Life Scenarios" and "Family Introduction." The "Life Scenarios" area is arranged according to the Li family's story to recreate the life of a prominent family. The "Family Introduction" area uses graphics, text, videos, and artifacts to help visitors quickly grasp the Li family's history. The five major themes include:

1. Origins of the Li Jin-xing Family (李金興家族緣起)
2. Baseball Pioneer Li Shih-chi (棒球先驅李詩計)
3. Daxi Midwife Li Xuan (大溪助產婦李宣)
4. Ancient Residence Model Theater (古宅模型劇場)
5. Beauty of Architecture (建築之美)
