Mad about Bach 24 [Film Screening] Bach's Christmas Miracle (《瘋迷24巴赫》【電影放映】《巴赫的聖誕奇蹟》)

Bach's Christmas Miracle (《巴赫的聖誕奇蹟》) takes the audience back to Leipzig in December 1734. The Christmas holidays reunite the Bach family. As the Thomaskantor, Bach must complete the "Christmas Oratorio" (《聖誕神劇》) within a tight deadline. Under the pressure of a race against time, Bach faces family conflicts and the collision of artistic ideals and reality. He must find a balance between life and work, overcome contradictions with his family and opposition from the city council, and do everything possible to ensure this great masterpiece, consisting of six cantatas, can be performed.

This film tells the story of the creation of Bach's "Christmas Oratorio" through the perspective of Bach's 10-year-old youngest son, Gottfried. In terms of music, the film features the Thomanerchor (湯瑪斯教堂兒童合唱團) and recruits German harpsichordist Elina ALBACH and her Continuum ensemble for the soundtrack. Through meticulously researched music that enhances the Baroque atmosphere, the audience can glimpse Bach's daily life and immerse themselves in the music and story of the "Father of Music."
