Gleam Early Music Ensemble
Artist Introduction
Gleam Early Music Ensemble
“Gleam” represents a faint light in Old English, the steady candlelight in Baroque painting, bringing dramatic chiaroscuro and visual effects to Baroque art. Simultaneously, “Gleam” serves as a metaphor for the Oriental virtues of “low profile and humility,” promoting the art of historical performance in Taiwan. The ensemble uses period instruments and rigorous academic research to perform music spanning Western history, including the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical periods.
Members have won numerous international competition awards and performed across Europe and Asia, including the Morges International Organ Festival (Switzerland), Bad Krozingen Early Music Festival (Germany), Morella Early Music Festival (Spain), and Sacred Music Festival (South Korea). The ensemble has collaborated internationally with El Concierto Español (Spain), Ensemble l'Immuable (Belgium), and Ensemble Armonico (Italy). In 2025, they joined the European Early Music Network (REMA).
