Artist Introduction

Original Baroque Ensemble

Founded in 2008, it is Taiwan's first professional Baroque ensemble composed of local early music performers. They insist on playing period instruments to recreate the original authentic flavor and splendor of Baroque music!

Baroque Flute | Chien Chih-hsien

Graduated from the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, studying under Prof. Karl Kaiser. Music Director of the Original Baroque Ensemble since 2014.

Baroque Violin | Alexander Pivtsaev

Ukrainian-Russian violinist. Graduated from the Trossingen University of Music, majoring in Baroque Violin. Current member of the New Zealand Barok.

Viola da Gamba | Chen Yi-an

Holds a Master’s from Chinese Culture University. Studied Baroque cello and viola da gamba in France, obtaining advanced diplomas from the Conservatoire de Bobigny and Conservatoire de Cergy-Pontoise. Currently the head of the La Chapelle Ensemble.

Baroque Cello | Wu Yi-ting

Kaohsiung native, graduated from the Department of Music, National Sun Yat-sen University. Participant in the Weiwuying Baroque Music Masterclass Workshops and regular performer with the Original Baroque Ensemble.

Harpsichord | Lee Yi-ying

Master of Arts in Harpsichord Performance from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. Specializes in Baroque chamber music and figured bass performance.

Harpsichord | Chuang Fu-jung

Graduated from Tainan University of Technology. Holds Master's degrees in Piano from TUT, Recorder from Frankfurt, and Harpsichord from Cologne.
