Metamorphosis (蛻變) – Lin Chia-hung (林佳宏) Solo Exhibition
This exhibition centers on the artist's long-term "Withered Leaves" series, combining personal life experience with natural observation to explore the meaning of growth, memory, and rebirth. The artist, born in Changhua in 1976 and raised in Zhuzikeng (竹仔坑), Dali, Taichung, has been exploring pulp media since his student days, using trees and fallen leaves as his primary creative imagery.
Through the soft and renewable properties of pulp fibers, the works shape the visual appearance of fading and silence while endowing fallen leaves with the symbolism of energy conversion and regeneration. The creative form gradually moves from representational to abstract, reflecting changes in inner emotions and life stages. Trees are not only natural scenery but also carry childhood memories, family affection, and the power of healing, making creation a spiritual journey of looking back at one's hometown, missing parents, and continuous metamorphosis.
