Miaoli County Artist Invitational Exhibition: Tong Ben Hao Se - Hsieh Wan-tung Creative Exhibition 苗栗縣美術家邀請展～彤本好色-謝宛彤創作展

Hsieh Wan-tung's creative journey is a "spiritual long march" spanning thirty years. From early sketches and sculptures to later jewelry design and life drawing, her works always contain the unique delicacy and warmth of a female artist. In 2019, she represented Taiwan at the Salon des Artistes Français, and in 2023, she served as an artist-in-residence at the Bethlehem Mission Society in Taitung. This rich life experience has been transformed into the perfect fusion of "form, color, and meaning" in this exhibition. On her canvas, color is no longer just decoration, but a concrete practice of Nietzsche's "become who you are."
In the "Tong Ben Hao Se" series, Ms. Hsieh boldly defines "Hao Se" (fond of beauty/color) as a frankness that embraces instinct and looks directly at desire. She skillfully uses birds to symbolize freedom and the deep sea to signify the subconscious, overlapping portraits with natural symbols. This is not only a display of technique but also the artist's profound realization that "all things share the same root." The blue of the sea and the red of the flames in the paintings construct a tension of life between cold and warm, allowing viewers to hear the echo of the soul and see a firm will like mountains and rocks in every shade.
