Miaoli Hakka Treasure Class (苗栗客家百寶課) - Hakka Workshops (April-June 2026)
To let the public get to know Miaoli Hakka culture in a friendly and interesting way, the special exhibition "Miaoli Hakka Treasure Class: 100 Whys Opening Miaoli Memories" is structured as a classroom setting of "Enrollment - Class - Graduation." Through five major themed courses and 100 questions, it guides the public to re-understand Miaoli's landscapes, industries, settlements, beliefs, and life memories in a simple, relaxed, and interactive way.
In conjunction with the exhibition, one Hakka-related workshop is planned each month. From April to June, there are: "Carrying Mountain Songs on Your Back" Silk-screened Canvas Bag DIY (April 11), "Fanning a Hakka Breeze" Hakka Floral Cloth Fan (May 9), and "Dong Dong Dong! Hakka is Singing" Hakka Floral Cloth Pellet Drum DIY (June 13). Continuing the spirit of the exhibition, the Miaoli Hakka culture and life memories presented in the exhibition are transformed into participatory handmade experiences, inviting the public to deepen their understanding of Hakka culture through actual operation!
The courses are free to participate in. Adults and children are welcome to register together. Registration and activity information can be found on the official website of the Miaoli County Government Bureau of Culture and Tourism (https://www.mlc.gov.tw/), the "Miaoli Arts" Facebook fan page, or by contacting Ms. Zhuo of Wendesign at 03-5200852 or Ms. Hsieh of the Hakka Affairs Section of the Bureau of Culture and Tourism at 037-352961 ext. 319.
