"Mountains, Water, Dialogue" Symphony Concert

Date: 2026-04-12 Organizer: (中華民國)新竹縣交響樂團;(中華民國)樂成交響樂團
"Mountains, Water, Dialogue" uses "Mountains" and "Water" as the core imagery of the concert.
Mountains symbolize roots, land, faith, and the power of being as steady as a mountain; water symbolizes emotion, flow, adventure, and the trajectory of life constantly moving forward. "Dialogue" refers to how music speaks to the audience about emotions, stories, and spiritual imagery through the conversation between melody, rhythm, timbre, and instruments. This concert juxtaposes Eastern and Western works, making music a dialogue about the human spirit.
In this concert, instruments are the language. The breathing of the strings, the lines of the winds, and the progression of the rhythm replace words to "speak" power, emotion, and imagination to the audience. Music here is not just heard but is in dialogue with the audience. Every melody is a sentence; every unison and response is an exchange.
The first half, "Mountains," starts from Eastern culture. "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" uses restrained and profound melodies to depict the hidden emotional tension in the martial arts world; "Dance of the Yao People" and "Peach Blossom Takes a Ferry" take the audience back to folk dances and daily life scenes, hearing the rhythms of crowds, labor, and the land; "Farm Rock" and "Hakka Suite" blend traditional culture with modern musical vocabulary, presenting the power of collective memory, ordinary life, and cultural continuity. Music here is as heavy as mountains, carrying history, culture, and collective beliefs.
The second half, "Water," begins the flow of music. "Mighty Power in Troubled Times" depicts heroic spirit and emotional tension in turbulent eras; "How to Train Your Dragon" uses soaring melodic lines to show growth, courage, and adventure; "Titanic" tells the intersection of love and fate through soulful melodies; "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Tarzan" use bold rhythms and vivid themes to embark on a journey of freedom, navigation, and self-identity. Water leads music across boundaries and toward the unknown.
The encore "One Piece" serves as the finale, symbolizing the meeting of mountains and water—when faith turns into action and dreams embark on a journey. The concert ends in passion and hope, inviting every audience member to find their own mountains and water.
