Mystical Realm and Ink Rhyme - Chen Hsuan-mao (陳玄茂) Solo Creative Exhibition

Chen Hsuan-mao, a local artist who has long been deeply involved in Yunlin, studied under many famous masters of calligraphy and painting such as Wang Ji-hui, Huang Jin-hua (Liang Meng), Lin Jin-tao, Lin Jin-zhong, Au Ho-nien, Zhan Yong-de, Cai Mao-song, Zhang Shen-xi, Li Chao-jin, Zeng Xing-ping, Zhang Quan, Tu Can-lin, Li Zong-ren, and Su Feng-nan. His solid artistic background allows his work to possess both traditional skills and personal style. His creative philosophy is centered on the concept of 'observing all things in tranquility to find contentment,' using brush and ink to depict his inner impressions of mountains and seas as well as humanistic sentiments. This exhibition focuses on the artist's interpretation of the dialogue between ocean waves and rocks. With a creative spirit of 'learning from nature and finding the source in one's heart,' he transforms the magnificent scenes of rising and falling tides and waves crashing against the rocky shores into a blend of stillness and motion on the canvas, demonstrating the rare tension and depth of ink wash painting.
