Next Stop: Future - National Yuanli Senior High School (國立苑裡高中) 23rd Art Class Graduation Exhibition
As the train slowly leaves the platform, the story of the 23rd Art Class of National Yuanli Senior High School (國立苑裡高中) unfolds on the tracks—this is the core image of "Next Stop: Future."
The three years of high school are like a train running between morning light and night mist. This group of people met at the "National Yuanli Senior High School Station," and their days were pushed forward by school bells and works, from strangers to acquaintances, from shrinking back to being brave, gradually weaving a shared landscape belonging to these three years. In this journey, what they accumulated was not just works, but a force slowly generated in daily life: patience for creation, understanding of themselves, and attempts and imaginations for the future. Those moments turned into scenery flashing past the car window, seemingly hurried, but will become an important step forward at some point in the future. When the train is about to head to the next station, looking back, these fragments become precious.
This exhibition brings together the fruits of three years of hard work by 16 graduates. Through the transparency of watercolor, the atmosphere of ink wash, the marks of printmaking, the thickness of oil painting, and the innovative language of digital painting and mixed media, they have refined what they learned into the most beautiful side. This is not only a summary of the pursuit of techniques but also a dialogue with their inner selves.
"Future" is not a vague slogan, but different tracks that everyone is about to embark on. Some will continue to create, some will enter different fields; some have already thought out their routes, and some are still exploring directions. But no matter what, the exhibitors will take the touches, memories, and courage accumulated during these three years to their own distances.
The train will not stay in the same place for too long, and these graduates are also preparing to set off. This is not a farewell, but a continuation, because one day in the future, when they remember this journey again, the sound of worn brushes, the noisy laughter in the classroom, the chaos of the school anniversary, and the exhaustion of staying up late to complete works will all become the force pushing them forward. "Next Stop: Future" symbolizes graduates starting at the same time but running towards different distances. The story in this carriage will not end because of graduation but will be like the track marks left by the train, carrying the tracks walked together for these three years, and also carrying that smiling self sitting in the carriage, embarking on their own journey.
