Permanent Exhibition of Cishan Living Culture Park (旗山生活文化園區常設展)
The city-designated historical site "Old Gushan Elementary School" (舊鼓山國小) was formerly the Fanshuliao Ordinary Higher Primary School (蕃薯藔尋常高等小學校) during the Japanese colonial period, and was reorganized into Gushan Elementary School (鼓山國民小學) after the war. In 2001, Gushan Elementary School moved to a new campus, and the auditorium, office building, and north wing classrooms of the old campus were designated as historical sites. In 2016, the park was closed for restoration due to an earthquake, and was reopened in stages starting in 2020. The park features the "Elementary Student for a Day: Time Banana Capsule" (一日小學生.時光蕉囊) thematic exhibition. Through cute chibi-style student figurines and giant realistic stationery models, it creates an "elementary student's perspective." At the same time, it uses old photos, large maps, and Banana City (蕉城) stories, combined with Q&A level-clearing decoding games, bulletin board creativity competitions, and portrait photo studios to connect cross-generational campus memories. The thematic displays include "Joyful Reading Classroom," "Replicated Classroom," and "History Classroom," connecting the time memories of Cishan (旗山) schoolchildren from different eras. The pleasant scenery and elegant historical atmosphere are suitable for parents and children to read together, reminisce about elementary school life, and learn about Cishan's history and cultural assets.
