Permanent Exhibition of the Historical Building Jiuqutang (九曲堂) Taifang Commercial Association Pineapple Cannery (Taiwan Pineapple Factory 臺灣鳳梨工場)
The Dashu (大樹) area became a major pineapple production region due to its geographical environment and climatic conditions suitable for pineapple growth. At one point, there were 11 pineapple canning factories. Jiuqutang (九曲堂) was chosen for transport convenience due to its station on the longitudinal railway line. Currently, only three buildings of the third and fourth factories of the Taifang Commercial Association remain, making it the only surviving pineapple industry architecture from the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan. After a two-year restoration project by the Bureau of Cultural Affairs, the "Taiwan Pineapple Factory" (臺灣鳳梨工場) opened on August 18, 2018.
The Taiwan Pineapple Factory is divided into three halls: A: Dashu History and Culture Exhibition Hall, B: Pineapple Industry Exhibition Hall, and C: Wanglai Society. These century-old industrial facilities have been transformed into the Taiwan Pineapple Factory, a space where learning, experience, and leisure coexist, allowing the public to feel the golden age of Taiwan's pineapple canning industry.
