Pottery of Now and Then (陶今陶昔) - Taichung City Pottery Culture Association Members Joint Exhibition

In the past, ceramics were always seen as a medium for making everyday objects. With the evolution of the times and the opening of concepts, ceramic creation not only represents the standard of practical craft in life but has also evolved into diverse expressions of ceramic appearance along with environmental changes and the rise of innovative thinking.

To this day, ceramic creation continues the thinking of objects; furthermore, in addition to physical form, it carries more of the artists' concepts, emotions, experiences, and expressions of impressions.

There is no standard formula for creation. Sometimes it is based on multi-layered interweaving of ideas, and sometimes it is inspired by stylistic beauty, material techniques, and comprehensive knowledge. This process covers a state of fusion between sensibility and rationality, abstract and concrete, and further records the development of contemporary ceramic creation.
