This picture book has accompanied countless Thai children as they grew up, carrying deep cultural significance. The story follows the Moon's spiritual growth journey, conveying the importance of friendship, tolerance, and self-identity. The performance combines various puppetry forms, integrating positive values into toddler puppet theater, allowing children to understand the true meaning of building friendship and recognize the power of resonance and empathy; suitable for young audiences aged three to seven and their parents.


｜What is the story about?

In the quiet night when all things sleep, the lonely Moon drives a spaceship and embarks on a journey to find friends.
During the journey, the Moon encounters animals on Earth; however, each encounter disturbs the animals' sleep, causing the spaceship to be scratched by angry animals, gradually becoming damaged and falling into the sea...

Finally, the spaceship sinks to the seabed and is mistaken for a peer by starfish. The starfish teach the Moon how to build friendships with others and become the Moon's friends, eventually returning to space together. The Moon is no longer lonely.



｜How does the story happen?

"The Moon Looks for a Friend" is directed by Thai puppeteer Sirikarn Bunjongtad (Jae). Jae's work style is deeply warm, always allowing the audience to feel surprise and comfort.

The performance uses light, shadow, hand puppets, and other rich puppetry techniques, enhanced by the puppeteers' singing and physical movements to increase the story's fun and sensory effects, making the plot vivid and three-dimensional!
