Realm of Flux — Wang Chen-wei's Landscape Construction and Spatial Perception

Date: 2026-01-01 — 2026-12-31 Organizer: (中華民國)王振瑋
Wang Chen-wei
Specializing in public art projects and large-scale sculptures, his work often reflects a concern for the essence of life and considers the power of art to enrich land and humanity.

Through the use and transformation of everyday materials, he uses creativity, form, materials, and techniques to provide the audience with a profoundly inspiring and unique experience.

Curator Chen Yi-fan points out that "Flux" refers to the generation of time and matter in motion; "Realm" is a space that can be stepped into by the body and captured by the senses, yet remains forever formless.

Taking the unique local characteristics of the Qingshui Military Families' Village (Qingjuan) as a carrier, the audience's walking itself becomes a sensory script composed by water, wind, and time from the moment they enter the exhibition room.

The work is no longer just an object to be viewed, but a catalyst for space, nature, and the body to "become" together.

Exhibited Works:

〈Time-Space Corridor〉: Located in the backyard of West No. 10, conceptualized as a walkable "time tunnel," a large-scale landscape work.

The Artist says:
Qingshui Military Families' Village is a place uprooted due to historical events. It carries countless stories of migration and hardship,

forming a unique community appearance after years of diverse cultural integration.

I translate and interweave these in a visible way, forming a symbolic corridor for a dialogue across time and space.

The Curator says:
Roof Batten ‧ Vortex of Time

Roof battens are common materials in construction. The artist has been creating with them since 2021, echoing the concept of architecture/construction. Using "lines" as the basic form, they are repeatedly superimposed, returning to simplicity while becoming increasingly complex.

The exhibition route extends from the indoor area to the outside, with the backyard serving as a transition. The artist uses roof battens to form a spiral passage, creating a ritualistic journey from indoors to outdoors, as if walking through folded time.

After passing through this fantastical passage, the blue sky and strong winds of Qingshui might feel particularly interesting.
