"Ren'ai District (仁愛區) Grassroots Memory Collection Project" One Shop, One Era (一店一時代) Achievement Exhibition
The "Ren'ai District Grassroots Memory Collection Project," jointly promoted by the Keelung City Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Keelung Cultural and Historical Association, presents the "One Shop, One Era" special achievement exhibition to citizens after months of oral interviews, data consolidation, and content research. Citizens are invited to step into the life history scenes of Ren'ai District to feel the deep heritage and emotional warmth of urban memory.
As the earliest commercial and living center of Keelung, Ren'ai District is lined with old shops passed down through generations; their daily lives are the core of the city's memory. This exhibition presents the project's results in the most comprehensive way, including oral histories of 12 old shops, memory collection activities, special lectures, urban walks, and theatrical tours. Familiar names like Jiang Yi Long Hao, Shunli Shop, Longcheng Trading, Dongming Chinese Pharmacy, Xin Yu Yi Hao, Gujin Etiquette, Yuanshan Jewelry, Dahua Bakery, Minglang Cloth Store, Arong Cloth Stall, Guangxing Tang Herbal Shop, and Chenggong Shoe Store will be transformed into real and moving story chapters in the exhibition. Most of these shops have over 60 years of history, some even entering a century, accompanying citizens through changes in life and eras, witnessing the deep heritage of the harbor city culture.
The exhibition continues the spirit of "Grassroots Memory Collection," ensuring that culture is no longer just archived in books but returns to the streets and the living scenes of people. Through oral accounts, video recordings, and object preservation, the accumulated data allows urban stories to be revitalized and continued, becoming an important force for condensing local emotions.
"One Shop, One Era" reproduces the grassroots daily life of Ren'ai District through immersive curation, displaying historical materials and video narratives. It allows the audience to feel as if they are traveling through old street scenes, experiencing the original intentions of the shops, the spirit passed through generations, and the warmth in the memories of local residents. All citizens are invited to the Ren'ai Library to step into the life stories of a century-old district and reunite with the collective memory of the harbor city.
