Special Exhibition Hall 2: Candied Shadows - Archive Photography Art Exhibition (第二特展室:餞影-典藏攝影藝術展)

Date: 2026-01-01 — 2026-05-14 Organizer: (中華民國)客家委員會客家文化發展中心
Hakka archival images record the diverse aspects of Hakka village life. Photographers have observed ethnic life and rituals for many years, condensing images like time-settled candied fruits (known as "Jien Tong" in Hakka, pronounced jien tongˇ in Sixian dialect) and dried meat, whose flavors become more mellow over time, embodying cultural depth and the accumulation of years. "Candied Shadows - Archive Photography Art Exhibition" utilizes the center's digital archive images as display materials, recounting past works and looking back at how images connect history, human relationships, and natural aesthetics, leading viewers into a deep Hakka cultural foundation. "Candied Shadows" is not just a presentation of images but also opens an experience of smell, hearing, and the five senses, making images transcend mere records to become carriers of culture and emotion.
