Taoyuan (桃園) Urban Story House Lighting Project II - Guishan Military Dependents' Village Story House (龜山眷村故事館) "Nine Villages Outside the Window" (窗外的九個村) (20251225-20260308)
In the past, the Story House condensed the history of the nine villages in Guishan into black and white lines, preserving the contours of time like a still window. This time, the children of Class 6-3 responded to memories with color, depicting contemporary landscapes amidst geometric patterns.
The same history has grown a new look under the brushes of different generations. The works are transformed into light boxes, reconstructed from old wooden pallets from the anniversary stage. As light passes through the brushstrokes, the bustle of past celebrations sublimates into warm light, making the stories of the military dependents' village no longer just static records, but a vitality that continues to be generated in daily encounters.
"Nine Villages Outside the Window" (窗外的九個村) is an open window and a memory that continues to glow.
Co-created with Class 6-3 of Xinlu (新路) Elementary School, responding to memories with color, outlining the daily scenery belonging to the contemporary era among the exclusive patterns (totems) of the nine military dependents' villages in Guishan, allowing the same history to bloom into a new look under the gaze of different generations. The light box structure is disassembled from the wooden pallets of the anniversary stage—those woods that once carried applause and laughter have been reorganized to become containers for memories. "Nine Villages Outside the Window" is an open window and a memory that continues to glow.
