"The Realm of Emptiness" (虛空之境) Exhibition - Urban

The ideal of modernity, whether in France or Taiwan, is gradually collapsing due to the fierce impact of climate change. In the past, humans believed resources were infinite and development eternal, that nature could be tamed and dominated, but this idea no longer holds true. Standing on the edge of this disintegrating modern world, we try to find a new balance. This is the story the photographers are telling this time.
"Vanitas" (vanités) was originally a philosophical and moral reminder, warning people not to be overly obsessed with material wealth. However, in this exhibition, it becomes a photographic contemplation on how to survive in a world destined to collapse. This "Realm of Emptiness" (虛空之境) exhibition combines photographic works from Taiwan and France to reflect on the plight of the contemporary world and future possibilities, telling how artists from different cultural backgrounds are together searching for new hope. The "Territory" theme describes breaking the boundaries between nature and culture, using microscopic images, natural themes, and various types of images such as extensive field surveys to reveal the human traces and stories beneath the surface of the land; the "Urban" theme further demonstrates how photography views and reflects on the contradictions and issues caused by imagination and reality in the wave of urbanization, rethinking the relationship between the self and the world, and exploring and searching for new balance points in an uncertain modern era.
