Three Lives in Words — Special Exhibition of Collections by Hakka Writers Huang Juan, Tseng Kuei-hai, and Zhan Bing
How is life written into words?
How do words look back on a person's life?
This exhibition takes "Life" as its curatorial core, breaking away from traditional literary exhibitions focused on chronology or history. Instead, it starts from how creators respond to their own lives and times through writing, inviting the audience into the literary worlds of three Hakka writers to read the traces of life they left at different stages.
The exhibition features selected items donated by Huang Juan, Tseng Kuei-hai, and Zhan Bing, including books, manuscripts, and revised drafts. The curatorial design uses "Words as Life Documents" as the spatial language, presented in sections based on the creative characteristics of the three writers. This allows the units to be independent yet in dialogue. Through whitespace on the walls and the arrangement of reading rhythms, visitors can pause and think between text and images, feeling the deep connection between literature and life.
Furthermore, an interactive co-creation unit is planned, inviting the public to write "one word" to respond to the exhibition theme with their own life experiences, making literature not just a display to be watched, but a living experience to participate in.
This is more than just a literary exhibition; it is a humanistic space to read life, listen to the era, and leave one's own mark.
Welcome to step between the lines, read three kinds of lives, and write your own word.
