Trajectory of Stone Whispers - The Unending Notebook (石語的軌跡-沒有停止的記事本)
The artist's journey in stone carving began as a respite from the heavy pressure of life's needs. Facing the surrounding burdens of family responsibility, economic load, and work demands, they chose to dialogue with stone. This is not only learning but also a conscious self-emptying after being overly focused on livelihood and reaching exhaustion. When the creator takes a step back and lets the environment and intuition guide their hands, the stone becomes a solid source of spiritual support.
The creator states that stone carving is an art of letting go; if done well, it is beauty. Using sandstone (砂岩) carved from river stones, which are natural objects often accompanied in life but passed over at a glance as matter-of-fact, just like our life time and daily existence, which are so taken for granted that we easily let them flow like water, dripping away. Through stone carving, one subtracts a record of life and leaves a trace.
The exhibited works record economic damage from Lehman Brothers in 2009 to trade tariffs in 2025. What changed the modern world economy began in 2009, continuing to influence the shift and chaos of world wealth. Disputes and seizures caused by a lack or excess of resources involve ideologies and things that seem natural in cultural logic, yet they also form a blood-and-tear history of warfare, constantly affecting the ups and downs of our living conditions. Through the exhibits, the creator looks back at the events happening around us with the viewers.
The journey of life is a trace of accumulated years. Another part of the creative works is the process of family growth, representing the natural process of the "Trajectory of Stone Whispers." Cherishing those who have always accompanied them becomes the content of the notebook, using figures, animals, imagery, or abstraction to highlight a diverse world. Actions record emotional cognition, from supporting a family, moving for work, the growth of the old and young, to life economy and stability needs—all have become roles in the "Unending Notebook."
