Tsou · Natural History (鄒・自然博物)
The person who draws in the mountains has brought the deities and daily life of the #Tsou tribe into the National Museum of Natural Science.
Tsou life is closely related to nature; every plant, animal, and environmental change is a continuation of knowledge, memory, and emotion. "Tsou · All Beings (cou. h’oyunsova)" tells of the daily life of the Tsou people—plants gathered from the mountains, songs left by ancestors, tools in hand, and the flickering firelight; these are all their ways of conversing with all things.
In the eyes of the Tsou, nature is an existence full of life and spirituality. The mountains and forests have gods, the rivers have gods, and the weather and destiny all have their forms and names. In "Tsou · Deities (cou. noachipa)," the artist's brushstrokes bring them to life, with vivid and agile images highlighting once again that these deities are not distant but live together with the tribespeople and look after one each other.
This exhibition revolves around the creations of Tsou artist Pu'u Poiconʉ. She is a Tsou from the Tfuya (特富野) village, specializing in illustration, comics, graphic design, and wall painting. After graduating from the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University, she chose to return to her hometown to continue creating, working closely with local young farmers, cultural tourism units, and regional revitalization teams to let culture live in daily life.
Welcome everyone to visit the exhibition and support us, so these stories can continue to be told!!
